Euphoria Season 3 has suffered not one but two massive losses and that is, of course, one of the primary reasons why it got delayed.
While 2023 was a game changer for cinema across the world, there was also a setback for Hollywood when the strikes began, and the entire industry came to a standstill for an indefinite period of time. While a lot of films suffered and had to push their release dates, including the latest release, Dune: Part Two, aka Dune 2, there was also a long list of streaming shows that bore the brunt of the same fire.
Zendaya-led Euphoria Season 3 was one of them, and the show went through an even more difficult time when it lost two of its pivotal team members to death. All of this resulted in a very long delay in the making of the third season, and the wait continues. Colman Domingo now talks about what is causing the delays.
Colman Domingo Breaks Silence On Delays
The anticipation for Euphoria season 3 is immense, as the show has been loved by people across the world for its dark theme and how it showcases many problems from the real world authentically. Colman plays a pivotal role in the show, which also stars some of the most promising actors. Domingo, in his latest interview, has now spoken about what is taking Sam Levinson so long to get on floors and get the third season of Euphoria made. He revealed how Levinson is making sure that the material is bulletproof with multiple rewrites.
Talking about how Sam Levinson wants to deliver a season that is worthy of the hype that the first two have created, Colman Domingo said, “Sam is a person who writes and rewrites and writes and rewrites again because I think he’s wrestling with what’s important. He’s responding immediately to the ills of the world. I know that the one thing I can tell you is that he’s very interested in the existential question of who we are right now. Our souls. That’s what he wants to figure out with season three.”
Loss Before Euphoria Season 3
If you are unaware, in the past year, two of Euphoria’s pivotal team members passed away. Popularly known for playing Fezco in the HBO show, actor Angus Cloud passed away allegedly after an accidental drug overdose. He had a very important and interesting part to play on the show. Euphoria also lost its producer as Kevin Turen passed away after suffering from heart failure. Turen’s death shook the entire TV industry in the West, as they lost a man who made a lot possible in his illustrious career.
The tentative release window suggests that Euphoria Season 3 is eyeing a 2025 release. But with the rewrites still ongoing and the production yet to begin, we are either looking at a release by the end of next year or even further.
