Tiger Woods, the renowned golfer, withdrew from his 2024 season opener, drawing all attention on him. At the Genesis Invitational, the 48-year-old was playing his sixth round when he started to feel under the weather. He had to be sent to the hospital as a result, which has led to a dismal start to the year.
Many of his admirers are questioning if he will host the event again because of this issue. Moreover, there are questions about his next PGA Tour appearance. However, Woods has stated that he will perform at a few events going forward. What do they consist of? Let’s investigate.
Based on his prior commitments, Tiger Woods is anticipated to participate in the upcoming events. These are forecasts based on his previous appearances; he has not yet confirmed any events.
The Players Championship (March)
Masters Tournament (April)
PGA Championship (May)
US Open (June)
The Open Championship (July)
Hero World Challenge (December)
PNC Championship (TBD)
However, the 48-year-old will be unable to attend The Players Championship in March due to his current health issues. It will allow him to train to his best before the big Augusta National competition. But doing so will violate a prior commitment he made.
Woods participated in the Hero World Challenge in November of 2023. He said, “I think that best scenario would be maybe a tournament a month,” during the event. That sounds realistic to me. He also mentioned that he will play in the Genesis Invitational to start his 2024 season.
Sadly, he did not receive the favorable start at the hallmark event. During the first round, he struggled with physical concerns like back spasms and a stiff knee. His promise of “one event per month” is beginning to fade in light of the virus.
It will rely on how quickly he gets over his physical issues and flu. The good news for his admirers is that he is recovering quickly from his flu-like symptoms. But as evidenced by the fact that we spotted him hobbling at the Riviera Country Club earlier, he is still having physical issues.
