Deadpool and Wolverine director Shawn Levy dances around question if Taylor Swift will play role of Dazzler in Marvel film: ‘That is hardly confirmed nor denied in this interview’

Shawn Levy was asked about the chances of Taylor Swift appearing in his upcoming movie Deadpool & Wolverine, but didn’t provide an answer.

The director, 55, chat with Entertainment Tonight on Thursday at CinemaCon in Las Vegas following the convention’s Big Screen Achievement Awards.

The Montreal, Canada native was asked about rumors linking Swift, 34, to the role of the Marvel Comics character Dazzler, after she was seen with him and the film’s stars Hugh Jackman, 55, and Ryan Reynolds, 47, at an NFL game October 1.

‘That is hardly confirmed nor denied in this interview,’ Levy, who past worked on the Netflix hit Stranger Things.

The director of films such as Free Guy, The Pink Panther and Cheaper by the Dozen referenced Reynolds in saying, ‘I’m going to literally walk about of the frame and save myself, otherwise Ryan’s taking a hit [out] on me.’

Levy was among the notable names who accompanied the Grammy Award winning songstress to watch her beau Travis Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs in a road game against the New York Jets last fall.

Also spotted with the Shake It Off singer and filmmaker to the game – which the Chiefs won 23-20 – were the film’s leading men as well as Reynolds’ wife Blake Lively and Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner.

‘All that’s known is that I went to a football game, and those hours were well-documented and that’s all I’m gonna say,’ Levy told the outlet. ‘What can I say? I think intrigue is fun.’

Levy spoke with the outlet after he was presented the Director of the Year Award at the convention’s Big Screen Achievement Awards.

Fans have picked up on a number of links to Swift and the potential project, according to ET: In one instance, Reynolds and Jackman announced the movie was filmed in a house in which Swift recorded the music video for 2021’s All Too Well: The Short Film.

Levy was previously asked by the outlet about how the NFL game squared with a collaboration with Swift: ‘That was just a Sunday night hang with some friends that became a lot more.

‘I’ll just say that the proliferation of Deadpool 3 casting rumors is hilarious, and also really useful because now there’s no way for people to tell what’s real and what’s not.’

He added of the rumors: ‘So I can just sit back and just let the wave of accuracy and falsehood wash over me.’
