“People want more storytelling.. not just ADHD fast paced videos”: After Billions of Views on YouTube, MrBeast Makes a Crucial Change to His Content That Every YouTuber Should Take Note Of

For years, the recipe for YouTube success seemed to be making short, fast-paced videos with lots of cuts and action. However, MrBeast, known for his outrageous stunts and high-budget giveaways, has changed things up.

While his videos typically last between 12 to 25 minutes, he has made a radical shift in his content strategy. His newest video is over 40 minutes long, which is much longer than his usual uploads.

Furthermore, he focused on telling one detailed story in the current video. This change suggests that viewers seek more storytelling and depth rather than quick, flashy content.

MrBeast, whose YouTube channel boasts a huge following of 252 million subscribers and over 10 billion views, recently released his longest video ever.

It’s a 40-minute challenge video titled Ages 1-100 Decide Who Wins $250,000. In this video, each person representing an age from 1 to 100 stands in their designated spot. If anyone crosses the red line, they’re out of the game.

This upload is a big change from his usual content, which is typically under 25 minutes and packed with fast challenges and competitions. Jimmy Donaldson, aka MrBeast himself, said, “People want more storytelling in YouTube content and not just ADHD fast-paced videos.”

MrBeast’s change might look risky, but it could be the start of something new for YouTube creators. If creators focus on telling great stories and building their characters, they can connect better with viewers. This could mean more loyal fans, better engagement, and even more subscribers in the long run.

Take, for example, the success of channels like Fredrik Knudsen and Night Mind. These channels use detailed storytelling to break down complicated subjects. These longer videos often get millions of views and lead to interesting discussions in the comments.

Some people might worry that longer videos mean fewer people will watch to the end, but the Greenville native’s risk might actually work out well. A good story can keep viewers interested for a long time. Plus, longer videos give creators more chances to place ads, which could mean more money for those willing to try out longer formats.

The 25-year-old’s change is daring, but it might be a glimpse into the future. As viewers grow more discerning, creators who focus on storytelling and building connections could end up with fans who stick around longer and engage more. Will other YouTubers start doing the same? It would be interesting to see!
