The Signal Iduna Park was overrun by a swarm of bees prior to Dortmund’s crucial Bundesliga match against Mainz on Saturday afternoon.
The bees covered camera equipment that reportedly belonged to Sky Germany, obstructing their coverage of the title decider.

Firefighters had to be brought in to help carry the infested equipment out of the stadium ahead of the kick-off, the Sun reports.
Ultimately, this invasion did not cause any additional problems, and the game was able to begin at the scheduled time.
As a curiosity, Dortmund’s mascot is a bee and the ‘black and yellow’ institution took to their social media profiles to respond to Mainz 05’s tweet: “Welcome to Dortmund”.
But according to one tweet, the strange situation arose after a fan seemed to have sprayed something that attracted the bees to the stadium.
Dortmund bottle Bundesliga title
Although they had a two-point lead over Bayern at the start of the day on Saturday, their long wait for domestic success quickly grew more agonizing.
Dortmund stumbled as Andreas Hanche-Olsen and Karim Onisiwo gave Mainz a startling 2-0 lead after just 24 minutes.
That put Bayern top of the league as they were 1-0 up at Cologne courtesy of Kingsley Coman.
Dejan Ljubicic’s goal from the penalty spot for Cologne in the 81st minute briefly put Dortmund back on top, but Jamal Musiala gave Bayern a 2-1 victory.
Dortmund had to score twice against Mainz in overtime as a result. Niklas Sule equalized in the 96th minute to set up a nail-biting finish.
