Max Verstappen was rated the highest overall in the F1 2024 game.
Visa Cash App RB reserve driver, Liam Lawson has backed Max Verstappen over Lewis Hamilton. He has said that it is justified for the Dutch driver to be rated higher than the seven-time world champion in the 2024 F1 game. Verstappen has won three consecutive world championships since 2021 and is one of the best drivers on the grid.
Max Verstappen has won 50 out of the last 75 races in F1 since his first title-winning campaign in 2021. On the other hand, Lewis Hamilton has failed to win since his last victory during the penultimate round of 2021 at the Saudi Arabian GP.
Verstappen’s current run of form has earned him a rating of 96, seven points above Hamilton, who is rated 89. Liam Lawson has thus, shed light on his reasons for the ratings of the two drivers, claiming that the Dutchman is one of the very best in motorsport.
I think it’s fair, to be honest. I think it’s fair. I think Max right now is in a very, very strong [run of form]. Obviously, the team’s very, very strong and have been for the last couple of years, but Max is also driving at a level that’s very, very high. Not that Lewis isn’t – I fully believe that he’s still obviously very, very competitive – but I don’t know. Liam Lawson via talkSPORT
Lawson said that Verstappen is on the fortunate end of having a team that is very competitive and strong, while Hamilton has not had a fairly competitive car with Mercedes ever since 2021. But the New Zealander has also highlighted that both are competitive and it will be just a matter of time before they draw level again in terms of performance.
Visa Cash App RB leans towards Daniel Ricciardo instead of Liam Lawson
Visa Cash App RB is reportedly inclined toward the idea of retaining Daniel Ricciardo over the much-speculated Liam Lawson for next year. RB has recently extended Yuki Tsunoda’s contract till the end of 2025, which leaves only one seat to be filled for the Red Bull sister team next season.
The Japanese driver has comprehensively outperformed Daniel Ricciardo this season, so it will be either Ricciardo or Liam Lawson in that other RB seat. I am hearing Ricciardo is maybe the slight favorite at the moment. Craig Slater via SkySportsF1
Daniel Ricciardo has not been an impressive performer on the grid for RB, aside from a few good performances in Shanghai and Montreal. However, the Australian driver is rumored to be slightly above Lawson who has otherwise demonstrated his abilities as a temporary driver for Ricciardo last season.
RB will now further assess the performance of Ricciardo, which will determine his position for the team next season. Lawson remains an exciting talent on board as a reserve driver for the team and will be offered a seat on the grid if the 34-year-old continues to underperform.
