The Colombian star will be performing at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday as her nation faces Argentina in the Copa América final.
There will be plenty of Colombians in attendance at Hard Rock Stadium, Miami this weekend as Colombia take on Argentina in the final of the 2024 Copa América. The likes of James Rodríguez and Luis Díaz are looking to lead their nation to a second-ever international trophy but they won’t be the only Colombian stars on show.
Singer Shakira will be performing at the halftime show on Sunday, the latest major sporting event graced by her presence. She has already starred at the Super Bowl and at three World Cups. This time, however, her home nation are just 90 minutes away from a famous triumph.
“Shakira is an extraordinary South American star who has dazzled the entire world. Her songs are sung and danced to in every corner of the planet, turning her art into a global phenomenon that crosses borders and is enjoyed by millions of people,” said CONMEBOL president Alejandro Domínguez. “We are sure that her performance at the CONMEBOL Copa América USA 2024 will enhance the message of healthy passion and unity through sport.”
Shakira’s Copa América halftime show setlist
As one of the world’s most famous South American artists there has already been plenty of Shakira involvement in the pan-continental tournament. Her track ‘Puntería’ has been widely used on Mexican-American media company Televisa/Univision’s coverage, although it is not the official Copa América song.
Expect ‘Puntería’, Shakira’s track with Cardi B, to feature in the halftime show and other tracks off her new album, ‘Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran’. She will embark on her 17-date US tour in November so expect plenty of songs from that album to be included in her halftime show setlist. Tracks like ‘BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 53′, ‘Te Felicito’ with Rauw Alejandro, and her Karol G collaboration ‘TQG’ could all be included.

Shakira took aim at ex-husband Gerard Pique in her track with producer Bizarrap.
Going deeper into Shakira’s back catalogue, it would be no surprise to see ‘Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)’ to be included in the show. The official song of the 2010 World Cup, ‘Waka Waka’ has become synonymous with soccer for fans all around the world.

The final of the 2024 Copa América will kick off on Sunday, July 14 at 8pm (ET) / 5pm (PT). The halftime show is expected to start as soon as the first half has ended so we should see Shakira take to the stage shortly after 8:45pm (ET) / 5:45pm (PT). Soccer games have a fixed halftime length of 15 minutes, meaning that there is precious little time for organisers to set up a full concert stage, hold the show and get the field back to playable condition for the second half.
