Huge WWE return alongside Roman Reigns is a “no-brainer”

Roman Reigns has not appeared on RAW or SmackDown since losing the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania XL on April 7. Vince Russo, WWE’s former head writer, thinks the 39-year-old could join forces with The Rock again when he returns.

Solo Sikoa and Roman Reigns

Reigns teamed up with The Final Boss to defeat Rhodes and Seth Rollins on the first night of WrestleMania XL on April 6. In recent months, both cousins have been absent from WWE programming to film movies. During that time, Solo Sikoa has taken charge of The Bloodline and replaced Reigns as The Tribal Chief.

Russo speculated on Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Writing With Russo show that The Rock could return to help Reigns fight off the new-look Bloodline. Roman was sure to be outnumbered against Solo’s faction and coming back with Rocky would make a lot of sense for the original Tribal Chief.

Roman was sure to be outnumbered against Solo’s faction

“As far as The Rock and The Final Boss, bro, it sounds to me like, bro, the table is set for Reigns to come back, Reigns to be outnumbered, and who does Reigns bring in against The Bloodline? I mean, my God, bro, you talk about blowing the roof off of that place. I mean, to me, right now that [The Rock returning] is a no-brainer right now,” said Russo.

How The Bloodline has changed during Roman Reigns’ hiatus

On the April 12 episode of SmackDown, Solo Sikoa recruited Tama Tonga as a new Bloodline member. Tonga Loa also joined the group at Backlash France on May 4. The following month, Jacob Fatu emerged as the latest member of the faction on the June 21 episode of SmackDown.

A day that Madison Square Garden will never forget

Roman Reigns’ special counsel Paul Heyman refused to acknowledge Sikoa as The Bloodline’s new Tribal Chief on June 28. As a result, he was attacked by the new-look stable and kicked out of the group.

On July 5, Sikoa said Reigns was “not man enough” to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania XL. The former NXT North American Champion also made it clear he will not relinquish his Tribal Chief status back to his cousin.
