Roman Reigns returned to WWE programming at SummerSlam with a huge pop from the audience. However, the Head of the Table is no longer the same man as he was before, as a recent report claims that he’s now a babyface, ending his four-year run as a heel.
After years of disappointing stints as a positive guy, the Original Tribal Chief embraced his villainous side at SummerSlam 2020 when he returned to attack The Fiend and Braun Strowman. Reigns then aligned with Paul Heyman to lay the foundation for one of the greatest title reigns of all time. The run came to an end at WrestleMania 40, where Reigns lost the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship to Cody Rhodes.
Roman Reigns took a hiatus after losing to The American Nightmare. He made his return at SummerSlam this weekend as he laid out Solo Sikoa, helping Rhodes retain his title. With the Original Tribal Chief attacking one of the biggest heels, Solo, his babyface turn was all but cemented. A new report from PWInsider has also confirmed the same, noting that Roman is listed as a babyface on the WWE internal roster, thus ending his 1441-day run as a heel.
Analyst Sam Roberts believes Roman Reigns needs to be wary of top WWE star
Solo Sikoa took over the Bloodline in Roman Reigns’ absence. The rising star kicked out Jimmy Uso and Paul Heyman from the group and added three new members. He went on to proclaim himself as the Tribal Chief, with Jacob Fatu becoming the new enforcer of the heel faction.
However, the Original Tribal Chief returned for vengeance at WWE SummerSlam this past Saturday, laying out Solo Sikoa to cost him the match against Cody Rhodes.
While Reigns may have been able to get the better of Sikoa, analyst Sam Roberts believes that Jacob Fatu could pose a serious threat to the Head of the Table.
“For the Roman [Reigns] thing to work, it has to feel like he might not be able to beat this new Bloodline. And the only thing that makes it possible for Roman to have that doubt is Jacob [Fatu],” said Sam Roberts.

Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu were kept off each other’s tracks at SummerSlam as the latter was selling an ankle injury and thus stayed away from action. However, the two are bound to collide in the upcoming weeks.
