Nasaan shares ‘powerful’ letter his father Proof sent him when he was on tour with Eminem far from home

NASAAN, who recently toured with JID and Smino on their “Luv is 4Ever Tour 2023,” continues to honor the legacy of his late father, D12 founder, and frontman Big Proof, while forging his own path in the rap industry. With talents spanning production, rapping, directing, and editing, NASAAN distinguishes himself with uniquely crafted music videos that have earned praise from rap icons like Eminem and Busta Rhymes. His latest “ERROR 404” album pays homage to Detroit’s vibrant music scene while acknowledging NASAAN’s roots in Atlanta, his childhood home.

Detroit’s emerging rap sensation has recently shared a letter from his father Proof, written 20 years ago, when he was on tour with Eminem: “A lot of you know I don’t drink or do drugs and I always say its because of a letter my dad wrote me while on tour with Marshall somewhere overseas… Thought I’d share this because its powerful and may could help someone.” NASAAN tweeted alongside the picture of the letter.

The picture reads: “Right is right. Not drugs and smoking, although I have did my share of dumbness but it’s all nothing. I went 2 years straight not a smoke or a drink but f–ked up when I was 26 years old. I hope that you can trust yourself, listen to that trust yourself, to know what you want and don’t want to do. Life is what you make it. I know now, if I had discipline in my home, then my schooling would have been completed but I reached the level of success without high school. This world is so crazy. It’s like every angle is covered in traps and pitfalls. Be aware trust no one but family and love them more when they f–k up. Because family is what made me and you and your brother is what I call family and your mother made us work. Peace son. Proof.”
