Kahn also points out that “most of the research on covering the mouth with tape has been on people with sleep apnea. We’re largely in the dark about the effects of this on the average person.”
If you feel like you have trouble sleeping or often have a dry mouth when you wake up, Kahn recommends seeing a specialist for advice. He also said the use of alcoholic beverages can have a negative impact on breathing. “Stop drinking alcohol 3 hours before bed,” Kahn added.
