Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal shared the moments they spent together at the Rafa Nadal Academy on their social media. A reunion that was celebrated by fans, media and other tennis players, excited to see the two friend-rivals meet again for the first time since the 2022 Laver Cup.
As reported by the @Olly_Tennis_ account, Federer shared a new photo with Nadal , which is actually a group photo, considering that with the Swiss Mestro and the Spanish legend there were their agents, Tony Godsick and Carlos Costa respectively.
Federer retired at the 2022 edition of the Laver Cup, while for Nadal, 2024 would be the year of his return to the court after the injury that affected him in the previous season.
At the Brisbane International, Rafa had to say goodbye to his Australian ambitions, as an injury, yet another in his career, forced him to give up the Australian Open. Fans hope to see Rafa back on the court soon: according to the latest rumors, Nadal should return on the court at the ATP in Doha.
The reunion between Federer and Nadal
Federer was hosted by Nadal in the Spaniard’s Academy, in Manacor. The two tennis legends took a tour of the facility, obviously also talking about tennis, what it was and what it will be.
Rafa, out due to an injury and forced to miss the Australian Open, was able to update his former colleague on his physical condition and the next projects he has in mind (who knows if the Spaniard will involve the Swiss in some of his new future projects!) .
The Spanish champion posted some photos of the lovely reunion on his Instagram profile, writing: “It’s a pleasure to have you here with me today, my friend. Thanks for visiting and I hope to see you again very soon.”
