Oleksandr Usyk is planning a cruiserweight comeback after Tyson Fury’s rematch

Untitled heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk may return to the cruiserweight division after his rematch with Tyson Fury in December.

The Ukrainian grew to become the primary four-time heavyweight champion with a break up determination win Fury in Saudi Arabia in May.

The 37-year-old will face Fury on December 21, however could resolve to drop again all the way down to cruiserweight.

“I feel perhaps after the rematch, I’ll drop all the way down to cruiserweight. I would like extra. [fights at] cruiserweight,” Usyk stated ‘3 The Knockdown Rule’ outdoorsa podcast.

“Maybe I can go unopposed for the second time within the cruiserweight division, that is my plan. [as a heavyweight], I’ve to eat often. It’s exhausting for me, I do not prefer it.”

Usyk moved as much as the heavyweight division in 2019, having beforehand been the undisputed cruiserweight champion.

He gained 16st weight (224lb), the heaviest of his profession, in his combat with Fury.
