The quiet campus of Virginia State University turned into a scene of chaos early Saturday morning—and now, authorities say a 19-year-old man is behind bars, accused of opening fire and leaving five people wounded, one fighting for their life.
The suspect has been identified as Camron Harris of Henrico, Virginia, according to police. Shockingly, Harris is not a student at the university—and neither are four of the five victims who were hit in the hail of gunfire.
The injured range in age from just 17 to 23 years old. One of them is a VSU student, and officials confirm that person has already been released from the hospital after receiving treatment. Their identity has not been made public.
Right now, investigators have not released any information about a possible motive behind the shooting.
What we do know is that police have secured eight felony warrants for Harris, including charges for malicious wounding and using a firearm during a felony. He is currently being held without bond at Chesterfield County Jail.

But by Saturday evening, authorities had lifted the lockdown, saying they no longer believe there is an immediate threat to the community.
